Unique new Opus from Acoustiguide

Acoustiguide has announced the launch of its new Opus series, a range of handheld interpretive guides with audio, image and video capabilities.

Developed in collaboration with the museum and heritage market, OPUS consists of two units, OPUS CLICK™, a keypad-driven guide, and OPUS TOUCH™, a touchscreen guide.

Both units have a sleek modern look, full colour screens and a revolutionary design which incorporates an extendable speaker, creating a single unit that can be used either as a wand or headset player.

In its closed format the unit is compact and used with headsets. Alternatively, the unit can be used as a wand by extending the internal speaker from the back of the unit.

The full colour high resolution screens can reproduce video, photos, graphics and maps, while audio is accessed via an internal speaker, through stereo headsets or via single earpieces.

Both the CLICK and the TOUCH also feature a Positioning and Orientation facility. Working in conjunction with positioning emitters installed in a gallery or museum, this enables users to easily locate individual objects or points of interest which might otherwise be difficult to find.

Once there, the guide will deliver appropriate content.

Acoustiguide has revealed that the new units - to be available from the autumn - have already created great interest. Both Westminster Abbey in London and Chicago's Sears Tower Skydeck have pre-ordered OPUS for their sites.
